Ineos Grenadier Off to a Strong Start in Australia with Impressive Sales

Will Ineos continue to dominate the Australian off-road market with its impressive sales and upcoming model options?

Ineos, the British off-roader specialist, has made a significant impact in the Australian market since delivering its first Grenadier models earlier this year. With consistent month-on-month growth and impressive sales numbers, Ineos is already surpassing established brands in the competitive 4×4 segment. We sat down with Ineos’ head of APAC region, Justin Hocevar, to discuss the brand’s success, upcoming model options, and future fleet aspirations.

Ineos has had an impressive start in the Australian market, outselling well-known 4×4 models such as the Land Rover Discovery and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Despite only delivering Grenadier models for a few months, Ineos is already ahead of these established brands in terms of sales numbers.

With monthly average sales that rival Jeep’s Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, the Grenadier is proving to be a popular choice for off-roading enthusiasts. Even the SsangYong Rexton is facing stiff competition from the Grenadier.

The success of the Grenadier is expected to continue with the upcoming release of the Quartermaster ute. Ineos anticipates further growth in sales with this new addition to their lineup, catering to the demand for a versatile and capable utility vehicle.

Ineos has also responded to customer feedback by reducing lead times to around six months. This improvement comes after early customers experienced longer wait times. Additionally, Ineos plans to establish a stock buffer to better support their network and ensure faster delivery.

While fleet interest is strong, Ineos is currently prioritizing customer sales and support. Ineos wants to establish a strong foundation in the Australian and New Zealand markets before fully focusing on fleet business. However, there is already significant interest from fleet customers in various sectors, such as emergency services and utilities.

The two-seat utility wagon, although representing a small proportion of total sales, has found its niche among payload hungry caravanners and overlander tourers. This unique model offers a strong commercial business case for fleet and individual buyers alike.

The Quartermaster dual-cab ute is another promising model for Ineos. Offered as a cab-chassis, it allows for further customization, making it an appealing option for trade and fleet customers. Ineos has already lined up a supplier for a steel or alloy tray, ensuring easy access and availability for buyers.

  • Ineos has exceeded sales of popular 4×4 models like the Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes-Benz G-Class
  • The Grenadier’s popularity rivals that of Jeep’s Wrangler and Grand Cherokee
  • Ineos expects further growth with the upcoming release of the Quartermaster ute
  • Lead times have been reduced to around six months, with plans for stock buffering
  • While fleet interest is strong, Ineos is currently focused on customer sales and support

Ineos has made an impressive entry into the Australian market with its Grenadier models. With sales surpassing well-established competitors, the Grenadier is quickly becoming a top choice for off-roading enthusiasts. As Ineos continues to expand its lineup and improve lead times, the brand is poised for further growth and success in the years to come.
